{"id":918,"date":"2012-02-01T15:47:17","date_gmt":"2012-02-01T15:47:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.edwardsd.co.uk\/work\/?p=918"},"modified":"2013-01-15T16:59:28","modified_gmt":"2013-01-15T16:59:28","slug":"offline-domain-join-djoin-exe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edwardsd.co.uk\/work\/2012\/02\/offline-domain-join-djoin-exe\/","title":{"rendered":"Offline Domain Join (DJoin.exe)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In order to carryout an offline domain join you can use the following steps using an admin account or permissions to perform domain joins etc:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Logon to Domain Controller or Server (2008 \/ 2008R2)<\/strong><\/p>\n<pre lang=\"basic\">djoin \/provision \/domain mydomain.com \/Machine WorkstationName \/SaveFile C:\\Off-CLI.DJoin<\/pre>\n<p>\/domain &#8211; Specifies the name of the domain to join.<br \/>\n\/Machine &#8211; Specifies the name of the computer that you want to join to the domain.<br \/>\n\/SaveFile &#8211; Saves provisioning data to a file.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Logon to the client PC\/Workstation\/Laptop (Windows 7)<\/strong><\/p>\n<pre lang=\"basic\">djoin \/RequestODJ \/Loadfile C:\\OFF-CLI.Djoin \/LOCALOS \/WINDOWSPATH %systemroot%<\/pre>\n<p>\/Loadfile &#8211; Specifies the output from a previous provisioning command. (Where the offline file is)<br \/>\n\/LOCALOS &#8211; Specifies the path to the Windows directory of the offline image.<br \/>\n\/WINDOWSPATH &#8211;\u00a0Specifies the path to the Windows directory of the offline image. (who doesn&#8217;t put this on c:\\??<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don&#8217;t try and run this same piece of import code for other machines.<\/strong> The djoin import is unique to the PC name, therefore you will create a conflict. I found this out the hard way by getting &#8220;The trust relationship between this workstation and primary domain failed.&#8221; Error.
